Ryosuke Yazaki

Japanese sculptor Ryosuke Yazaki, born in Tokyo in 1965, is a master of form and space, continuing the artistic legacy established by his grandfather, the renowned sculptor Torao Yazaki. He initiated his artistic journey at Japan's Nihon University, where he specialized in sculpture.

Nevertheless, it was his transformative sojourn in England in 1993 that significantly broadened his artistic horizons, drawing inspiration from prominent figures such as Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth.

Despite often being modest in size, Yazaki's sculptures emit an enigmatic magnetism that surpasses cultural boundaries, possessing an almost organic quality with a universal allure. The diverse selection of materials in his work adds intricacy to his creations, reminiscent of African or Amerindian totem poles.

The artist's creative process demands complete physical dedication, yet well before the works materialize, a formal design phase occurs. During this stage, the artist utilizes computer tools to craft computer-generated shapes that subsequently transform into tangible and celestial forms through the artist's hands.
